Road Work Along Cedar Avenue, Aug. 8-14

The traffic signal is scheduled to be removed at 155th/Whitney and Cedar, and that street west of Cedar is slated to close.

New road work slated for Cedar Avenue in Apple Valley this week:

  • Removal of the traffic signals at 155th Street/Whitney Drive and Cedar, which will not be replaced. Traffic on Cedar will not stop, and stop signs will be put in for drivers turning on to Cedar from 155th or Whitney. Drivers on Cedar will be able to turn left or right onto each of the side streets. Drivers on 155th or Whitney will only be able to turn right on to Cedar.
  • Closure of 155th Street/Whitney Drive west of Cedar, scheduled for Monday through Thursday if weather permits.
  • Closure of the right-turn lane on 150th Street at Cedar, scheduled for Tuesday; trucks will not be able to turn right during the closure.

Existing road and lane closures that will continue are:

  • closure of sidewalks along both sides of Cedar from 147th to 157th streets. These began July 25.
  • closure of northbound and southbound lanes of Cedar between 147th Street in Apple Valley and Dodd Boulevard.

*On Aug. 15, the northbound and southbound Apple Valley transit stations at 155th and Cedar will close because of construction. Buses will pick up and drop off at the old transit station on Gaslight Drive during this time. Riders still are advised to park in the ramp near the newer stations.
