District 196 Board to Discuss State Budget, Levy Referendum

At Monday meetings, the board will review the state budget's impact on the district, and likely will decide whether to ask for a levy referendum question on the November ballot.

Whether to put a levy referendum question on the November election ballot will be up for discussion at a special meeting of the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district board, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday.

This year, the state has granted the district approval to ask for about $500 to $600 extra per pupil from taxpayers in the referendum.

At its regular 6 p.m. meeting, the board will hear a report on the effects of the state budget and latest legislative session on its operations, which affect the need for a referendum.
