District 196 to Discuss 2012 Final Budget; Teacher, Nurses Agreement

will be meeting at two different times this evening to discuss items including the final 2012 budget and a collective bargaining agreement with teachers and nurses.

The first meeting will be a workshop at 5 p.m., which will include discussion on the 2012 budget, certified property tax and school board photos.

The regular school board meeting will begin at 6 p.m; both meetings will take place at Dakota Ridge School in Apple Valley. 

During the regluar meeting, the District 196 school board will hear from Superintendent Jane Berenz concerning the district's 2011-16 strategic plan. School board members will be taking a vote on the plan this evening; Berenz gave its first reading at the Nov. 28 meeting.

In new business, Finance Director Jeff Solomon will bring forward the finalized 2012 budget. He will also explain the 2011 property tax levy, which is payable in 2012. 

In addition, the collective bargaining agreement with teachers and nurses will be discussed in new business.
