Eastview Community Foundation Awards $65K in Scholarships, $20K in Grants

The foundation has given more than $465,000 in scholarships and $150,000 in grants since it began the efforts.

The Eastview Community Foundation, with money earned from foundation events and the support of the community, awarded more than $65,000 for 105 scholarships to members of the Eastview High School class of 2012.

The foundation also awarded more than $20,000 in grants to Eastview community schools, for academic, arts and athletics programs, according to a press release.

Beginning in 2000 and through this year, EVCF has awarded more than $465,000 and 820 scholarships to graduating Eastview seniors. This year, EVCF combined efforts with Eastview and added 15 Lightning scholarships formerly distributed by the high school.

  • Scott Highland Middle School: Kindle Fires for Math Curriculum
  • : Math Tutoring
  • Eastview High School: Reading Literacy Class for Challenged Readers

EVCF has provided nearly $150,000 in grants to the eligible schools in the Eastview Community since 2005 due to financial support of individuals and businesses in the Eastview school community.

A full list of EVCF funded grants can be found on the Eastview Community Foundation website.

The Eastview Community Foundation scholarship and grants award ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 in the Eastview Commons.
