Eastview High Senior Named Kare 11 'Academic All-Star'

An Eastview High School senior has been named an "Academic All-Star" by Kare 11.

Zach Tollefson, ranked fifth academically in a class of 520, is a member of the school's debate team and the National and Spanish Honor Societies. A Commended Merit Scholar, Tollefson has also served as captain of Eastview's cross country, swimming and track teams.

"This school is amazing", he told Kare 11. "There are so many opportunities to participate in, whether it's sports or classes, the teachers will always help you do your best."

Tollefson plans to enroll at the University of Minnesota in the fall and major in chemical engineering or chemistry.

"I just try to work hard now so I can open as many doors as I can for the future", he said. "And, I just couldn't live with the guilt if I knew that I didn't try my best."
