Eastview's Taylor Tvedt Earns Athena Award

Tvedt and 39 other recipients from across the suburbs will be honored at an awards ceremony and luncheon in Oakdale on April 17.

Eastview High School senior Taylor Tvedt, a "key" member of of the girls hockey and lacrosse teams over the last four years, can add another accolade to an already long list of accomplishments.

Tvedt was named a 2013 Athena Award winner last month. The awards are given to young women representing St. paul and nearby suburbs for their outstanding athletic achievements.

This year, all 39 recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony and luncheon in Oakdale on April 17.

The award is based on excellence in individual sports or for participation and accomplishments in team sports. Criteria considered includes the number of sports they participate in, the number of varsity letters earned, and post-season awards earned.

Tvedt has been a lacrosse captain since her sophomore year, has lettered eight times and earned five different All-Conference athletic awards, according to an announcement on the Eastview lacrosse team website. Tvedt also took All-State honors in lacrosse and accepted a scholarship to play  Division I lacrosse at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, the news release said.
