Four Nominated to Service Academies

Three RHS seniors and one grad among more than two dozen students backed by Sen. John Kline.

Four current or former Rosemount High School students were among more than two dozen individuals nominated to U.S. service academies by Sen. John Kline.

The nominees were recently recognized at a ceremony in Kline's Burnsville office.
“As a retired Marine Corps Colonel and a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I take a great deal of pride in the fine young men and women who serve our country,” Kline said. “The caliber of service academy candidates is high and it is an honor to nominate the best candidates the Second District has to offer.”

The four Rosemount students are:

  • RHS graduate William Hoffman was nominated to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Hoffman currently attends the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D. His parents are Jeffrey and Colleen Hoffman.
  • Kline nominated Adam Jackson to the U.S. Air Force Academy. Jackson, a senior, plays football and lacrosse, and competes in wrestling. His parents are Joel and Nikki Jackson.
  • Stephen Sawyer was nominated to the U.S. Naval Academy. Sawyer, an Inver Grove Heights resident who is a senior at RHS, competes in track and field and is a member of the National Honor Society. His parents are Mark and Cynthia Sawyer.
  • Bryce Wilberding was nominated to West Point and the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy. Wilberding, a senior, plays football, wrestles, competes in track and field, and is a member of the National Honor Society. His parents are Jay and Judy Neudecker.
