PHOTOS: Rosemount High School Marching Band Competes at State Fair

The band was one of several high school bands that took to the pavement on Day 1 of the fair.

The 200-member Marching Band hit the pavement 2 p.m. Thursday at the .

The high school's band was the first to perform in the parade that swept through various areas of the fair. Not only was this a great opportunity for the band to show off their skills, but they were also involved in a competition among many other high school marching bands throughout Minnesota, including Coon Rapids and Eden Prairie.

"The band had a lot of energy; they were having fun. It was obvious they had worked hard on preparing for this competition," Rosemount resident and fair-goer Melissa Clifford said.

The bands are judged on their performance and the results will be posted sometime after the fair has ended, 12 days later.

According to a fair spokesperson, the results will be posted on the fair's homepage.
