PLAYOFF UPDATE: Rosemount, Eastview Boys To Compete in State Cross Country Meet

Here is a glance at high school playoff action involving Apple Valley-Rosemount schools this week.

Here is a glance at high school playoff action involving Apple Valley-Rosemount schools:

CROSS COUNTRY
The Section 3AA champion Rosemount and section runner-up Eastview will run in the Class 2A cross country meet at St. Olaf College in Northfield on Saturday. Both teams qualified for the state meet by finishing as the top two teams in the section.

On the girls side, qualifying for Saturday's state meet were Margie Freed and Laura Bestul of Eastview, Hannan Grimm of Rosemount and Camille Sjoquist of Apple Valley.

FOOTBALL

BOYS SOCCER

VOLLEYBALL
Eastview, the only local high school team remaining in the Section 3AAA playoffs, lost to top-seeded Lakeville North, 3-0, in the section semifinals on Tuesday night. Game scores were 25-17, 25-17 and 25-19.

Brie Orr led the Lightning with 10 service aces.

Eastview ends the year with a 19-10 overall record and a 6-3 mark in the South Suburban Conference. The Lightning finished second in the conference, two games behind Lakeville North, Burnsville and Eagan.

Lakeville North will play Eagan for the section title on Saturday.
