Rosemount High School Collects Thousands in Wounded Warrior Project Donations

South Suburban Conference schools collected donations for the Wounded Warrior Project during its football season.

, in addition to four other South Suburban Conference schools, successfully collected thousands of dollars for its Wounded Warrior Project during this year's homecoming game and MEA week. 

The total raised between the five schools was $7,844.

According to the high school's website, "The program supports the causes of soldiers injured on or after Sept. 11, 2001, by providing services and awareness."

"[Rosemount High School] collected $2,300 for the Wounded Warrior Project during the RHS vs. Apple Valley homecoming football game," the high school said.

The RHS Student Council decided that because they believe so strongly in the cause and because the dances they hosted this year were so well attended, that they would donate an additional $1,000 to this cause, the high school said in an announcement.

Here's the breakdown on how much money each of the SSC schools made through donations, courtesy of Brian Fell, Bloomington Jefferson activities director:

Rosemount: $3,200

Jefferson: $3,040

Burnsville: $950

Eagan: $336

Prior Lake: $298

Total: $7,844
