Apple Valley Boys Basketball Edges Onalaska in Timberwolves Shootout

The game between the Eagles and the Hilltoppers of Wisconsin was the closest of the tournament's games, coming down to a 66-64 score.

The boys basketball team edged Onalaska, WI 66-64 in the 2012 Timberwolves Shootout, according to a story from the Minnesota Timberwolves news department.

The Eagles/Hilltoppers game was the closest of the day's six match-ups throughout the entire game, the story says. Senior Mitch Hechsel made the Eagles' final winning points with 1.9 seconds left, it says.

In last year's Timberwolves Shootout tournament, the Eagles , Iowa's top high school team at the time.

That was when now-sophomore standout Tyus Jones and then-senior captain Tom Schalk, who now plays basketball at William & Mary, were out with injuries.
