FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Apple Valley Moves Into First-Place Tie
Apple Valley-Rosemount teams win all three of their conference football games Friday night.
Apple Valley moved into a three-way tie at the top of the South Suburban Conference standings Friday night with a win and Lakeville North’s upset loss to Prior Lake.
The Eagles, with their 35-6 victory over Bloomington Kennedy, improved their record to 4-1 overall and in the conference. Lakeville North and Prior Lake also are 4-1 in the conference.
Friday night was a positive night for the three Apple Valley-Rosemount high school football teams, as they all won conference games.

APPLE VALLEY 35, BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 6
In Bloomington, Quinn Hooks scored on runs of 35 and 60 yards, and Dom McDew-Stauffer scored his ninth touchdown of the season in the Eagles’ victory. Apple Valley also scored on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Tommy Singer to Dustin Fronk and on a punt return.

Apple Valley goes for its third straight win on Oct. 5 by hosting Eastview.
EASTVIEW 35, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 14
The Lightning kept pace in the conference standings with Friday’s win in Apple Valley. Eastview, 3-2 overall, improved its SSC mark to 3-1, a half-game behind the leaders.
Tied at 7-7 in the second quarter, Eastview put the game away with four unanswered touchdowns.
Will Rains has a big night for the Lightning with three rushing touchdowns. Henry McIssac’s 13-yard touchdown pass and Davis Burnham’s four-yard scoring run accounted for Eastview’s other scores.

ROSEMOUNT 17, EAGAN 16
Brandon Ekeren kicked a 31-yard field goal with 12 seconds left as Rosemount topped Eagan.
The Irish moved to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the SSC and will visit Lakeville South on Oct. 5.
