Apple Valley, Rosemount Cyclists Finish Chequamegon Fat Tire 40 Race
Jeff Weyrens of Rosemount finished sixth in his age group and 51th overall in the 1,700-cyclist race.
A dozen Rosemount residents and nine Apple Valley residents finished the Chequamegon Fat Tire 40 off-road bicycle race in northern Wisconsin this past weekend.
More than 1,700 cyclists completed the 40-mile event from Hayward to Cable on Saturday.

A portion of the race follows the well-known American Birkebeiner Ski Trail, as well as forest roads, snowmobile trails and other paths, according to the event website.
The top local finisher was Jeff Weyrens of Rosemount, who finished 51th overall and placed sixth in the men’s 40-44 age group.
