Big Second Half Lifts Eastview Girls Basketball Past Blaze

The Lightning allowed 15 Burnsville points after halftime, leading to a 52-34 win

A dominant second half helped the Eastview girls basketball team roll past Burnsville on Wednesday in Section 3AAAA quarterfinal play.

The Lightning turned a three-point halftime lead into a 52-34 rout, earning themselves a spot in Saturday’s semifinal at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Eastview will play rival Apple Valley at 8 p.m.

The Lightning (21-6) allowed just 15 points in the second half to Burnsville, but offensively Eastview took over thanks to big games by Amanda Beckman and Jenna Dockter.

Beckman had a game-high 19 points for the Lightning, while Dockter chipped in 16 points in the win.

For the Blaze (7-20), Jessica Ranke led the way with 15 points on the evening.
