Eastview, Apple Valley Boys Basketball Advance to Section Semis

Eastview will take on Eagan, and Apple Valley will play Cretin-Derham Hall on Saturday.

The and boys basketball teams, seeded No. 1 and No. 2 in section 3AAAA, respectively, both advanced to section semifinals after wins on Wednesday night.

Eastview trampled No. 8 seed Park Cottage Grove 75-26. Senior Joey King put up 28 points, Jordan Bolger had 14 and Ben Oberfeld had 12.

Apple Valley posted a 72-51 victory against No. 7 seed East Ridge on Wednesday. Dustin Fronk led the team with 24 points, followed by Tyus Jones with 18 and Dennis Auston with 13.

Eastview will take on No. 4 seed Eagan at 6 p.m. Saturday at Burnsville High School, immediately followed by Apple Valley against No. 3 seed Cretin-Derham Hall at 8 p.m., also at Burnsville High School.

Should Eastview and Apple Valley win these games, they'd face each other in the section championship on March 16.
