Eastview Drops 1st Game in Boys Basketball; Apple Valley Tops Kennedy

Apple Valley's girls team also won on Friday.

The No. 1 boys basketball team lost its first game of the season in heartbreaking fashion Friday night, by just one point to conference foe and No. 3-ranked .

After the 57-56 loss, Eastview, 19-1 overall, is now tied with North, also 19-1, for first place in the South Suburban Conference. Both are 11-1 in conference. Read more about the game from the Minnesota Basketball Hub.

The No. 5 boys basketball team, however, pulled out a win on Friday night, with an 83-64 victory against Bloomington Kennedy.

Tyus Jones led all players with 32 points; Mitch Hechsel had 12 and Dustin Fronk had 10. The Eagles are 17-3 overall and third in conference with a 10-2 record.

The Apple Valley girls team also beat Kennedy—now tied for first in the South Suburban with Eastview—on Friday night, 77-56. Destiny Scott had 19 points, followed by Jaryn Pipkins with 12. The team stands at

The Eastview girls also lost to Lakeville North, 52-37. Madison Guebert had 14 points, and Meghan Ryan had 10. That puts conference coleader Eastview at 12-2 in conference, 17-5 overall.
