Eastview Football Likely to Move Up to New Class 6A
The Minnesota State High School League added a new class for the 32 schools with the greatest enrollments.
The football team likely will be moving up a class beginning in 2012 thanks to an approved Minnesota State High School League vote on Thursday.
The MSHSL board of directors approved a move to add a seventh football class—Class 6A—effective in the 2012 season, according to the MSHSL website, for the 32 Minnesota high schools with the largest enrollments.
The move means football will have six 11-man football divisions listed as Class 1A-6A and a 9-man class. But, according to a post on the MSHSL website by media specialist John Millea, there is the potential for teams to opt down to Class 5A or up to Class 6A.
