Eastview Football Tramples Rosemount 49-13 in Section Semifinal

The Lightning advance to the section 3AAAAA final against Prior Lake for a chance at a state berth.

The No. 4 seed football team upset No. 1 seed 49-13 in the section 3AAAAA bracket on Saturday to advance to the section final against Prior Lake.

The 49 points all came on touchdowns. The Lightning's LeAndre Kennedy and Eric Krupke each had three running touchdowns against the Irish; a Ryan Reger pass to Adam Moorse set up the other touchdown score.

A touchdown and extra point put Eastview ahead 7-0 in the first quarter, and they scored another two in the second quarter before Rosemount responded with its own touchdown run.

The score at halftime was a 21-7 Eastview advantage.

The Lightning came out in the third and put two more touchdowns on the board, and Rosemount came back for its last score of the game, missing the extra point after the touchdown.

Two more touchdowns more than solidified the win for the Lightning.

Reger improved from 6 of 21 pass attempts completed against Burnsville in the section quarterfinal, to 8 of 8 against Rosemount for 181 yards.

The Lightning got 147 yards on the ground.

Eastview next plays at 7 p.m. Friday at Prior Lake for a chance to go to the state tournament.
