Football Friday: Three Home Games for the Second Consecutive Week

Apple Valley, Eastview and Rosemount again host South Suburban Conference opponents for 7 p.m. games.

Rosemount seeks to continue its momentum from a week ago and Apple Valley is out to return to the win column in South Suburban Conference football action tonight.

Rosemount won its first game of the year Sept. 14 when it beat Bloomington Kennedy. Apple Valley lost its first game to a tough Prior Lake squad.

In the other game involving Apple Valley-Rosemount teams tonight, Eastview hosts Eagan.

For the second straight week, all three of Apple Valley-Rosemount teams are playing at home.

GAME—Lakeville South at Apple Valley (South Suburban Conference)
PLACE—Apple Valley High School
TIME—7 p.m.
TEAM RECORDS—Apple Valley: 2-1 overall, 2-1 SSC; Lakeville South: 1-2 overall, 1-1 SSC
LAST WEEK—Apple Valley lost to Prior Lake, 34-26; Lakeville South lost to Edina, 13-0
GAME NOTES— In its shutout loss to Edina, Lakeville South outrushed the Hornet, 118 yards to 84, but South suffered four turnovers. Jordan Johnson led the Cougars with 70 yards rushing.... Tommy Slinger threw for 221 yards and a touchdown, but that wasn’t enough for the Eagles to overcome a tough Prior Lake squad. Others standing out on offense for Apple Valley were Dustin Fronk, with 106 receiving yards; Steve Wilson, a team-leading five catches for 74 yards; and Dustin Austin, with 46 rushing yards. 

GAME—Eagan at Eastview (South Suburban Conference)
PLACE—Eastview High School
TIME—7 p.m.
TEAM RECORDS—Eagan: 0-3 overall, 0-2 SSC; Eastview: 1-2 overall, 1-1 SSC
LAST WEEK—Eagan lost to Minnetonka, 34, 13: Eastview lost to Lakeville North, 24-7.
GAME NOTES—Eagan fell behind, 20-3, early the second quarter and could not recover. Shane Ringkob kicked two field goals and Andy Jubenville caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Ian Entzion.... the Lightning led 7-3 on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Mark Dwyer to Henry McIsaac before Lakeville North took control with three unanswered touchdowns. 

GAME—Prior Lake at Rosemount (South Suburban Conference)
PLACE—Rosemount High School
TIME—7 p.m.
TEAM RECORDS—Prior Lake: 2-1 overall, 2-1 SSC; Rosemount: 1-2 overall, 1-1 SSC
LAST WEEK—Prior Lake defeated Apple Valley, 34-36; Rosemount defeated Bloomington Kennedy, 21-14.
GAME NOTES—In its win over Apple Valley, Prior Lake shot out to a 20-6 halftime lead. Jack Johnson rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns, and Blake Weber added 122 yards and two scores on the ground.... Sean Kalinowski threw a 57-yard touchdown pass and ran 21 yards for another school as the Irish won its first game of the season. Ali Kl-Khatib scored Rosemount’s other touchdown on a 26-yard run.
