Football Friday: Eastview vs. Prior Lake Section Final

The fourth-seeded Lightning look to pull off a second-straight upset and advance to the state tournament.

GAME

(3-5 South Suburban Conference) vs. Prior Lake (5-2 South Suburban Conference)

PLAYMAKERS

Reger completed all eight of his passes for 181 yards in the Lightning’s 49-13 upset of top-seeded Rosemount on Saturday.

—Adam Moorse (Eastview, wide receiver)

Moorse caught four passes for 112 yards in the Rosemount victory, including a 47-yard touchdown. A good leaper, the wide receiver has proven the ability get over shorter cornerbacks on jump balls.

—Jack Kaiser (Prior Lake, running back)

Kaiser ran for 919 yards in the regular season for the Lakers, averaging 7.4 yards per carry. Four times he eclipsed the 100-yard mark, including 289 in week five against Bloomington Kennedy.

—Jack Johnson (Prior Lake, running back)

The power back in the Lakers running game, Johnson averaged less than 50 yards per contest in the regular season, but got much better as the season went along. Good blocker, too.

EASTVIEW WINS IF...

...players can contain the Lakers running game and force Prior Lake to throw the ball. On offense the Lightning were able to run the ball well enough against Rosemount to keep the chains moving and eat time off the clock. They’ll need to do the same this week.

PRIOR LAKE WINS IF...

...they run the ball effectively with Kaiser, Johnson and Trevor Maxwell to control the clock against an Eastview defense that held rush-happy Rosemount to just 106 yards last week. The Prior Lake defense has allowed just 10 points in its last two games, and anything close to that should be enough for the Lakers.
