Four Rosemount Runners Finish Boston Marathon

Four runners from Rosemount completed the 116th Boston Marathon yesterday in temperatures that soared into the 80s.

Four runners from were among more than 22,000 athletes to participate in the Boston Marathon yesterday. Temperatures were unusually brutal during the 2012 running of the 26.2-mile race, climbing into the 80s for most of the day and causing more than 4,000 participants to veer away from the starting line.

This was the 116th year for the annual event many view as the ultimate run.

According to the Washington Post, 2,100 runners were treated for dehydration, heat exhaustion and other medical problems during the race.
