Photo Gallery: Eastview Dance Wins 2 Section Titles, Advances to State
The Eastview High School Lightning dance team dominated the Section 1AAA meet in Bloomington Saturday, winning titles in both high kick and jazz.
Eastview High School's dance team—perennial Minnesota title contenders—showed Saturday that it's set to compete for more state championships, with first-place jazz and high-kick performances in the Class 1AAA dance team section championships.
Eastview has won five dance team state championships since 2000.
"I'm very happy," said dance team member Kate Harp. "Up to this far, it's the best we've done in both jazz and kick."

"Next week we're leaving everything out on the floor," Harp said. "We're going to do the best that we've ever done."
Eastview will compete in the 2011 MSHSL State Tournament Feb. 18-19 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Class AA/AAA jazz team qualifying competition will begin at 2:15 p.m. Friday. The high kick tournament starts at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
