The Apple Valley High School wrestling team met with Gov. Mark Dayton on Wednesday to accept the Governor's Cup award after claiming another state championship title this winter.

On Wednesday, the 2010-11 Apple Valley High School wrestling team and the other state champion wrestling teams from the recently finished season met with Gov. Mark Dayton at the Capitol to receive the Governor’s Cup award. The other teams were Jackson County Central (Class A), Simley High School (Class AA) and Frazee High School.

Before distributing the awards, Dayton made a brief speech acknowledging each team's successes in earning a state title. Each team had the opportunity to meet with Dayton and have their pictures taken as they accepted the award.  This is Apple Valley’s sixth consecutive state title, and the team also won the national title after its performance this past season.
