Photos: Eastview Overpowers Fridley, Stomps Bloomington in Legion Baseball Tourney

Eastview was victorious over Fridley, 12-8, and Bloomington, 15-1, in Friday's games at the 2011 Jim Hanus Memorial Gopher Classic Tournament.

The Eastview Thunder American Legion baseball team overpowered Fridley 12-8 in their Friday game, part of the 2011 Jim Hanus Memorial Gopher Classic Tournament, and stomped on Bloomington Gold with a 15-1 Friday win as well.

Eastview came out strong in the first inning and established a six-run lead over Fridley, while Fridley scored one run in the first. From there it was a battle between the teams, with a barrage of singles, doubles and runners coming home.

Eastview's next game is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday against a team from Gillette, WY.
