7 Apple Valley Wrestlers Seeded No. 1 in Section Weight Classes
Having already won a team section title this year, the Eagles are expected to send a large group of individuals to state as well.
Seven wrestlers have No. 1 seeds in their respective weight classes heading into this weekend's section 3AAA individual wrestling tournament.
The tournament runs Friday and Saturday at .
Section coaches met Wednesday night to vote on seeding for the tournament, and when the dust had settled, Maolu Woiwor (106), Dakota Trom (132), Dayton Racer (138), Mark Hall (145), Brandon Kingsley (160), Ben Sullivan (170) and Daniel Woiwor (182) were all on the top line in their brackets.

Section team runner-up has three No. 1 seeds, Eagan has two and Burnsville and Park have one each. The top two wrestlers from each weight division advance to the state tournament.

“It's exciting, being a senior and (last Friday) being my last night wrestling in this gym,” he said. “It was good to finish out strong.”
