Sports Roundup: Eastview Soccer Squads Remain Undefeated

Lightning boys beat, girls tie, Bloomington Jefferson on Tuesday; Apple Valley soccer splits with Rosemount.

In what has become a familiar and welcome refrain, the Eastview boys and girls soccer teams remained undefeated after their South Suburban Conference matchups to highlight the mid-week sports schedule.

Lightning Boys Soccer

Mathew Gweh recorded his team-leading 12th and 13th goals of the season as the fifth-ranked Eastview boys soccer team defeated No. 4 Bloomington Kennedy by a 2-1 score at home on Tuesday.

Goalkeepers Sam Ruelas and Treston Kederer split time in the nets, making six and three saves, respectively. The victory improved the Lightning to 7-0 heading into a Thursday night game at No. 7 Eagan.

Heading into Thursday, Eastview held a one-half game lead over Lakeville North in the SSC at 3-0 in league play.

Lightning Girls Soccer

The sixth-ranked Eastview girls soccer team "suffered" its first non-victory of the season in a 2-2 tie against visiting Jefferson on Tuesday.

Paris Sanders and Brianna Ismale scored for the Lightning, who were 6-0-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the SSC—one-half game behind conference-leading Lakeville North.

Eastview plays at No. 7 Eagan on Thursday.

Eagles Boys Soccer

With a 2-0 defeat of Rosemount on Tuesday, the Apple Valley boys soccer team improved to 5-2-1 on the season. Individual statistics were not made available.

Eagles Girls Soccer

A second-straight 1-0 loss, this time to Rosemount, on Tuesday dropped the Apple Valley girls soccer team to 3-5 this autumn. Individual statistics were not made available.

Lightning Volleyball

Tuesday also saw the Eastview volleyball team was shutout in a three-game sweep (20-25, 22-25, 19-25) to visiting Jefferson—the No. 2-ranked team in Class AAA—on Tuesday, falling to 5-5 on the season. Individual statistics were not made available.

Eagles Volleyball

The Apple Valley volleyball team blanked host Rosemount (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) in a Tuesday night intra-district match to improve to 5-3. Individual statistics were not made available.

Lightning Girls Tennis

The Eastview girls tennis team shutout Jefferson, 7-0, on Tuesday. Individual statistics were not made available.
