Timberwolves, Lynx Teaming up for Clinic in Apple Valley

Students looking for a fun way to spend an "off day" can go hoop it up with the Wolves.

The Timberwolves and Lynx Basketball Academy recently announced its schedule of fall clinics held throughout the Twin Cities area. Additionally to help develop the youth basketball community in Minnesota, the organization has partnered with Midwest 3 on 3 to host a fall championship tournament in October.

The one-day clinics are offered in the following cities this fall: Andover, Apple Valley, Chanhassen, Coon Rapids, Eagan, Mahtomedi, Maple Grove, New London, Plymouth and St. Cloud. All clinics are led by Steve Brown, Director of the Timberwolves & Lynx Basketball Academy, along with the Academy's staff of former college players and coaches.

The Apple Valley Camp clinic will be hosted by the Apple Valley Community Center and is set for 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. (There's no school this date due to MEA in service).

At the camp, staff will help players with fundamentals of shooting, dribbling and defense, along with practice habits and teamwork while implementing those skills in game-like situations. Clinics are open to boys and girls, ages 7 – 14.

Registration is now available online via the Wolves. Each player who registers for a clinic will receive one free ticket voucher to a 2013-14 Timberwolves game.
