Top-Seeded Eastview Soccer Teams Advance to Section Title Matches

In other section tournament action, the Rosemount girls tennis team lost to top-seeded Prior Lake in the section finals.

The Eastview High boys and girls soccer teams punched tickets to next week’s Section 3AA tournament finals with semifinal victories Thursday night. Both were the top seeds entering their respective tourneys.

SECTION 3AA GIRLS SOCCER SEMIFINALS
Top-seeded Eastview and second-seed Park will battle in the section championship game at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. The tentative site is Park High School.

• Eastview 3, Apple Valley 2 (Overtime)—Paige Wilberding scored a goal in overtime to complete Eastview's 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Apple Valley. Top-seeded Eastview (12-3-1 overall) was down 2-0 until scoring two goals in the final seven minutes of the second half. The latter goal, on a header by Kayla Tuthill, tied the score at 2-2 with two minutes left in regulation.

SECTION 3AA BOYS SOCCER SEMIFINALS
Top-seeded Eastview and second-seed Apple Valley will battle in the section championship game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16. The tentative site is Park High School.

• Eastview 2, Eagan 1—Top-seeded Eastview defeated fourth-seeded Eagan, 2-1. Jimmy Loi scored an unassisted goal five minutes into the game to put the Lightning (11-2-4 overall) up, 1-0. Joe Schlosser scored with 28 minutes left in the second half to increase the lead to two goals. Eagan got on the scoreboard with a few minutes left in the match.

• Apple Valley 2, Rosemount 0—Apple Valley shut out sixth-seeded Rosemount. Connor Flanagan got the Eagles (14-1-3 overall) on the scoreboard with a first-half goal. The lead jumped to 2-0 with Kevin Conways’s second-half goal.

Top-seeded Prior Lake defeated second-seeded Rosemount, 7-0, this afternoon in Lakeville.
