The Class 4A state boys basketball tournament begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday (March 21) for the boys basketball team.

The Lightning—who have been seeded third in Class 4A behind No. 1 and No. 2 —will play Eden Prairie at the Target Center in Minneapolis for their first game. Eden Prairie is 22-7 through regular and postseason play, while Eastview is 28-1.

All 4A games will take place at the Target Center, except the third-place game, which will be held at Concordia University at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Eastview, who was seeded No. 1 in section 3AAAA, . Eden Prairie, seeded No. 1 in section 2AAAA, beat Chanhassen 53-52 to make a state appearance.

If the Lightning defeat Eden Prairie on Wednesday, the team would play the winner of Wednesday's Moorhead/Lakeville North game at 8 p.m. Thursday.

If they secure another victory there, the Lightning would proceed to the championship game at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Ticket Prices (per session)

  • Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals: $14 for adults, $9 for students
  • Wristband to allow entry to both arenas on Wednesday: $19 for adults, $12 for students
  • Third-place game: $10 for adults, $7 for students

A few special notes from the Minnesota State High School League on attending any of these games:

  • There will be no leaving and re-entry of the facility without purchase of a daily pass wristband.
  • No backpacks, duffel bags, briefcases, laptops or iPads allowed, except for purses.
  • No outside food or drink is allowed. A coupon for a $5 hot dog, chips and soda combo is available to print here.
  • Fan-created signs that are 18x24 inches or less are permitted.
  • Personal cameras and video cameras are allowed, but no tripods are allowed for fans.
