What's Closed, What's Open on Labor Day 2013?
Find out which businesses and services are or are not available on Monday, Sept. 2.
If you need to take care of business at any of these Apple Valley or Rosemount establishments next week, you'll have to wait until Tuesday. The following offices and businesses will be affected by the observance of Labor Day:
- All city offices at the Apple Valley Municipal Center, Central Maintenance Facility and Rosemount City Offices.
- Postal Service branches; there will be no mail delivery on Monday
- Dakota County Galaxie Library and all other Dakota County libraries
- Dakota County offices, including the Western Service Center in Apple Valley.
- Some garbage and recycling services could be affected.
- Minnesota Valley Transit Authority bus service will operate on its Sunday schedule. Check the MVTA website to search schedules.
- Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan public schools will be closed, and begin the 2013-14 school year on Tuesday.
Labor Day is a federal holiday when banks traditionally are closed. Some will be open, however. Call your bank before you stop in to see whether it's open.
