Each week, Apple Valley Patch will post the profile of a child on the waiting list for a mentor with Kids 'n Kinship, an Apple Valley-based organization that matches kids with adult mentors.

Age: 11

Interests: Albert enjoys swimming, sports (such as football, basketball, and running), movies and games.

Personality/Living Situation: Albert is talkative and polite; he started middle school this year and likes school, especially English and math. He lives with his mom and brother in Eagan. 

Goals/Dreams: Albert would like to play football and basketball and catch with a mentor.

Looking For: His wish is to have a male mentor or a couple who can help him explore his interests. Albert’s mom is hopeful that a mentor can support Albert in making positive choices.

For More Information: Albert is one of almost 60 children waiting for a mentor through , a private nonprofit serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville and Rosemount in Dakota County for 39 years. If you're interested in becoming a mentor, you're invited to attend an information session from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Nov. 3 at the in Apple Valley. Mentors can volunteer as individuals, couples, or families for weekly fun and enriching activities at home or in the community on their own schedules.
