The School of Environmental Studies is an optional high school in Apple Valley for grades 11 and 12, with a focus on environmental topics and issues. Much of the curriculum is interdisciplinary and incorporates environmentally-based questions into the learning. It's adjacent to the Minnesota Zoo, which partners with the school on various projects. Each trimester, students take a seven-day intensive course, which becomes the students' sole academic focus for the seven-day period. Students can participate in sports and other extracurricular activities.
