Stolen Vehicle Leads Apple Valley Police to Drug Bust

Christopher Alan Siemers, of South St. Paul, allegedly stole his father's vehicle and was in possession of methamphetamine when he was picked up by police.

A stolen vehicle led Apple Valley police to a cache of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in February, according to charges filed against a South St. Paul man. Christopher Alan Siemers, 30, faces one felony count of theft of a motor vehicle and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance following an incident on Feb. 12, according to a criminal complaint filed last week by the Dakota County Attorney's Office. If convicted on the drug charge, Siemers could face a maximum of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. An Apple Valley police officer on a routine patrol came across a 1997 Dodge Ram truck parked on the side of the road, according to the complaint. Suicidal Apple Valley Man Arrested After Police Standoff on Gantry Lane

Police say Roy Lee Henneberger threatened to kill a crisis worker and use chemicals to kill other people.

Police dispatched a SWAT team and a special chemical operations unit to Apple Valley on March 30 during a standoff with a suicidal man who allegedly threatened to use chemicals to kill other people. Roy Lee Henneberger, 58, was charged with one felony count of terroristic threats for his alleged role in the standoff, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's Office. If convicted, Henneberger could face a maximum of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Police were dispatched to Henneberger's home on Gantry Lane just before 8:30 p.m. on March 30 on a report of a suicidal male, according to the complaint. Seven Injured in Three-Car Crash in Apple Valley

Police say a minivan with six occupants ran a red light and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Seven people were injured—one critically—in a three-car collision at the intersection of McAndrews Road and Garden View Drive on Saturday afternoon, according to the Apple Valley Police Department. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, when a 2003 Dodge Caravan with six occupants ran a red light while traveling southbound on Garden View, according to Apple Valley Police Captain Michael Marben. The caravan, operated by a local group home in Apple Valley, was struck on the driver's side by a 2004 Jeep Liberty traveling westbound on McAndrews. Apple Valley Police to Hold "Coffee with the Cops" Event on April 10

Meet some of Apple Valley's finest while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee on April 10, during the city's regular "Coffee with the Cops" event. The meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Panera Bread at 15052 Gleason Path in Apple Valley. Local police officers will be on hand to answer questions from the public. Heroin Overdose in Apple Valley Leads to Criminal Charges

Police say Aspen N. Miller overdosed on heroin last July in Apple Valley

A Wisconsin woman who allegedly overdosed on heroin in Apple Valley and started "gasping for air" is now facing criminal charges. Aspen N. Miller, 20, is charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's Office. If convicted, she could face a maximum of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Police were called to a home on Redwood Drive in July 2012, according to the complaint. While en route, emergency responders learned that a woman, the victim of a heroin overdose, had stopped breathing. A short time later, dispatch informed responders that she was "gasping for air." Vehicle Break-Ins Increase in Apple Valley; Police Issue Warning

Already this spring, the Apple Valley Police Department has responded to a uptick in car theft reports.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from the Apple Valley Police Department. Theft from vehicle reporting always picks up in the warmer months but the Apple Valley Police Department has responded to several recent reports already this year. Vehicles that have been parked outside in parking lots of commercial property during the evening hours have been targeted. In most instances vehicle windows are being broken and items visible inside are being taken. Items stolen include laptop computers and a variety of bags (handbags, diaper bags, backpacks, etc.). In some instances credit cards stolen from vehicles are being immediately used to make fraudulent purchases. These thefts can be prevented. Remember to remove valuables from …
