The Reuben omelet on the menu at the Bierstube in Inver Grove Heights is a variation of the signature German sandwich.
The Bierstube opened in 1962 in Hastings and opened a location in Inver Grove Heights in 1983. Today, all their locations still offer the same authentic German dishes. In that tradition, the restaurant originally was known for its Reubens, Rachels, burgers and steaks. But last spring, they got a little adventurous and put a breakfast spin on their most popular dish. Thus, the Reuben omelet was born. Note: The Reuben omelet, served with pumpernickel toast, is a breakfast-only item, so if you arrive after breakfast hours, you might try an actual Reuben or Reuben burger to get your Reuben fix.

It's not just quantity—the sausage is delicious and the potatoes are sauteed to a perfect balance of tender and crisp. "You won't leave hungry," Chef Hesham Abdel-Khalek, or "Chef Sham," said with pride. Most of …
