National Carmike Theaters Bomb Threat Cleared in Apple Valley

A bomb threat apparently was called in to Carmike Theaters corporate office Friday morning, but the Apple Valley Carmike Cinemas has been checked and subsequently cleared.

A bomb threat was reported Friday morning to the Carmike Theaters corporate office—not at one specific theater, but directed generally at all its theaters—causing Apple Valley police to check and subsequently clear the Apple Valley Carmike Cinemas of any possible threat or harm, Apple Valley Police Capt. Mike Marben said Friday. In Oakdale, where there is also a Carmike movie theater, Oakdale Patch spoke to local police. "It was a general threat," Oakdale Community Affairs Officer Michelle Stark told Oakdale Patch. "There was no specific location or time frame given."

Several Apple Valley Businesses Stay Open Christmas Day

Not sure which businesses are open on Christmas Day? We've compiled a list of local eats and entertainment for Dec. 25.

We scoured Apple Valley to find establishments that will be open on Christmas Day. If you celebrate Christmas, we've got the restaurants that will save your kitchen from holiday-meal mayhem (and maybe let you spend more time with your family than your oven). If you don't, you can still skip the cooking for the day.
