Twin Cities Metro Area Reacts to Connecticut Elementary School Shootings

As reports come in about the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Conn., many have responded on Twitter with disbelief and sadness.

  Twin Cities area residents are sending condolences on Twitter to Connecticut, where current reports say that 27 people were killed in the shooting. At least 18 of them were children. Several official sources have issued statements as well. Gov. Mark Dayton had this to say: "This dastardly, cold-blooded murder of innocent children and their educators by a deranged individual shocks Minnesotans. All of our children, their parents, and all of their teachers should feel certain every day that their safety is the paramount concern. The deepest condolences of Minnesotans go to the parents and families of the victims of this horrific act." Education Minnesota, the state teacher's union, released a statement of condolence as well.
