Zoo Board Approves Master Plan

According to a story in the Pioneer Press on Monday, visitors could see some of the zoo additions by 2014. Included in the master plan, approved by the zoo’s board on Nov. 1, are: • Construction of Crossroad Park, with a carousel, gift shop and play area; and Adventure Park, with zip lines, a rope course and a Chutes and Ladders play area. • Addition of new African and Asian animal exhibits. • Emphasis on the zoo’s conservation work, like its animal breeding and habitat programs.
