Thank you for the designation of continued traffic issues, in construction zones. But, I see no mention of any contractors correcting, continuing or finishing the paving of Cedar and the intersecting streets? There is designation of the crews continuing median and landscaping work.   more ›

Interstate 35E Construction Moves North in June

Expect delays as MnDOT reduces northbound and southbound traffic to a single lane from Apple Valley to Cliff Road.

The road work may have already started on Interstate 35E, but the most significant portions of the project—and the worst traffic headaches—have yet to come. Starting in mid-June, the northbound and southbound sides of the interstate will be reduced to a single lane from just north of 150th Street in Apple Valley to Cliff Road in Eagan as the Minnesota Department of Transportation repairs bridges and does surfacing work. No hard dates have yet been set for the lane closures, but once implemented, the closures will likely remain in effect for at least 30 days. Click on the PDF attached to this article to view the construction map and timeline. When the second phase of road construction in Apple Valley and Eagan is complete, MnDOT will move …

Watch Out Motorists: Major Interstate 35E Closures Start May 3

MnDOT will be closing portions of Interstate 35E and 35W in May to make repairs to the freeway interchange in Burnsville.

South metro motorists are in for a headache during road construction season this year. Major road improvements will close southbound Interstate 35E between Couty Road 42 and the 35E/35W interchange in Burnsville starting May 3, according to a news release issued by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Crews will be installing a new deck on a bridge near the interchange. Southbound I-35E will be open again on June 2, but until then motorists will have to detour to westbound Interstate 494, then onto southbound Interstate 35W to bypass the road closures, according to MnDOT officials. To make things more complicated, northbound I-35W will close between the 35W/35E split and County Road 42 at 10 p.m. May, 3 and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, …

I look forward to the lighting installation being completed -- and the existing lights in the vicinity of CSAH 42 being fired up. I was bicycling on the sidewalk down there about a week ago, and it felt quite hazardous (even with bike lights) without any lights overhead.   more ›
