The man suspected of killing his pregnant wife pleaded with 911 dispatchers to save her. Prosecutors are now seeking to upgrade the charges against the suspect from second-degree murder to premeditated first-degree murder.
Roger Earl Holland, the 36-year-old Texas National Guardsman accused of killing his wife Margorie Ann Holland, 37, and the couple's unborn child in a March 7 incident at their Apple Vally home, reportedly pleaded with 911 dispatchers to save her, according to a Pioneer Press article by Marino Eccher. During the call Roger Holland sobbed and said, "She's all I got," "Please hurry," "Oh, God," and "Please don't leave," according to the article. Wednesday's court hearing for Roger Earl Holland, 36, of Apple Valley, was canceled today by his defense attorneys. Holland was charged Monday with two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his wife, Margorie Ann Holland, 37, and the couple's unborn child. The criminal complaint released by Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom alleges that he strangled his wife, then staged the scene to make it look like she had fallen down the stairs. Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Monday afternoon that the March 7 death of Margorie Ann Holland, 37, is "hard to believe." "It's an extremely sad and tragic event for a mother and her unborn child to die allegedly at the hands of her husband and the child's father," Backstrom said at a press conference after charges were filed against Roger Earl Holland, 36, of Apple Valley. A criminal complaint filed Monday alleges Roger Holland strangled his wife to death, and then staged a scene to make it appear she had fallen down the stairs. Roger Holland was charged with two counts of second-degree intentional murder. Backstrom said he will bring an indictment for first-degree premeditated murder before a grand jury.

Funeral arrangements are set for Thursday morning for Margorie Ann Holland, nee Brown, who died under suspicious circumstances on Thursday. Visitation will be Wednesday evening in Faribault.
The south metro region is mourning the loss of Margorie Ann Holland, a 37-year-old woman who was slain last Thursday. She was 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Faribault. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. the day prior, Wednesday, at Boldt Funeral Home in Faribault. Holland, nee Brown, lived in Apple Valley with her husband. She was a longtime resident of Faribault and a member of the Army National Guard. Her family has a long history of service in the military.
