5-Time DUI Offender Charged With DWI at 2.5 Times Legal Limit

Lawrence John Lockhart, 45, faces two driving-while-impaired charges after his breath test allegedly registered a blood-alcohol level 2.5 times the legal limit to drive.

A Rosemount man with five prior DUIs faces two more DWI charges after he allegedly blew a .201 in a preliminary breath test when police stopped his motorcycle this past weekend. Lawrence John Lockhart, 45, is charged with first-degree driving-while-impaired (under the influence of alcohol with prior felony conviction) and first-degree DWI (over .08 and over .08 within two hours with prior felony conviction), both felonies for which the maximum combined penalty is 14 years in prison and a $28,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, a Rosemount police officer was driving behind a motorcycle shortly before 1:30 a.m. Aug. 26, and saw it drift over the fog line and center line multiple times, stop past a stop sign and eventually turn …

Woman Allegedly Stole Ex-Boyfriend's Checks, Wrote Them to Herself

Florence Charlene Wright, 24, of Rosemount, is charged with felony check forgery in Dakota County.

A Rosemount woman faces a felony charge after she allegedly took several blank checks from her ex-boyfriend and wrote them out in varying amounts to herself and her mother. Florence Charlene Wright, 24, is charged with felony check forgery in Dakota County, which holds a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, a man reported to Rosemount police in December 2010 that some of his checks were stolen and used without his permission. He apparently had learned between March and July that year of five checks written from his business account that he didn't write himself. Repeat DWI Offender Tells Police 'Catch Me If You Can' Before Attempting to Escape Traffic Stop

Allen James Hoff, 35, is charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and driving after canceled, inimical to public safety in Dakota County.

A Rosemount man with several previous DWI convictions faces criminal charges after his car was stopped because his license had been canceled, and then allegedly while drunk he proceeded to tell the officer "catch me if you can" and drove away. Allen James Hoff, 35, is charged with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, and gross misdemeanor driving after canceled, inimical to public safety. According to the criminal complaint, around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 3, a Lakeville police officer ran a license plate check on a car traveling north on Cedar Avenue near Upper 164th Street West, and found the driver's license was canceled; the car's driver matched the description of the license-holder, Hoff.
