Man's Alleged Jewelry Theft Nets Felony Charge

A man allegedly stole $1,500 of jewelry from the home of an Apple Valley woman he knew, according to a criminal complaint.

A homeless man faces a theft charge after allegedly stealing jewelry from the home of a woman he knew. Damien Ellis, 26, is charged with with felony theft in Dakota County, which holds a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, Ellis went to the home of the alleged theft victim around 7 a.m. the day she noticed the jewelry was gone. She said after he came over, she left, but when she came back Ellis apparently left abruptly. She told police she found this strange, and checked her jewelry box to find a diamond pendant, men's ring and a pair of earrings missing, the complaint says. She told police Ellis denied taking the jewelry, the complaint says, and she called police. Apple Valley …

Man Charged With Assaulting Daughter's Mother in School Parking Lot

Among criminal charges made recently, a South St. Paul woman is charged with check forgery in Apple Valley and a Rosemount woman is charged with theft.

Joseph Bolding, 31, of Minneapolis, is charged with one count of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of domestic assault, all gross misdemeanors, after police say he assaulted the mother of his daughter in a school parking lot in Apple Valley. According to the criminal complaint, the woman told police in April that she was at her daughter's track meet, and Bolding was also there; the two were no longer together. Bolding walked their daughter to the woman's car and asked the woman if she had a new boyfriend. When the woman said yes and that they were moving in together, Bolding allegedly asked if they were sleeping together, then grabbed her butt, hip and left breast and strangled her.
