21-Year Old Charged in Minneapolis Death of Apple Valley Man

Lamar Wilson was felled with a single punch to the head.

A Minneapolis man is facing charges in the death of Apple Valley resident Lamar Wilson, according to WCCO.

Tristan Keys is charged with first-degree manslaughter. According to police, the 21-year old punched Wilson at the Stop N Shop near the corner of West 35th Street and 1st Ave South on April 29. Wilson "dropped like a rag doll" according to witnesses and was pronounced brain dead at the hospital the next day.

Keys' bail is set at $2 million— extraordinarily high, the Star Tribune reports, because all witnesses fear for their safety if Keys were to be set free.

Both outlets report the punch followed an altercation in the store parking lot after someone in Keys' party accused Wilson of being a "snitch."
