Christmas-related Activities in Rosemount this Weekend

There are a handful of local holiday activities taking place this weekend

It's officially December, which means it's finally OK to blast Christmas music, decorate the house with snowmen, Santa, and gingerbread men as well as put up multiple strings of lights. It also is time to take advantage of all the holiday-related activities going on in and around Rosemount.

This weekend, there will be a little something for everyone to do.

Breakfast with Santa

The city's parks and recreation department will be holding its annual Breakfast with Santa event that occurs at the . The cost is $5, and it will take place from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Children will get to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, participate in making holiday-themed crafts and play games. 

A continental breakfast will also be included; catering will be provided by Twin Cs Catering. Registration was required for this event; the deadline was Nov. 28. According to Dan Schultz, parks and recreation director, the event has filled up.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree

According to Mayor Bill Droste, the city will be lighting a Christmas tree in front of the Saturday at 6:30 p.m. 

"We'll be doing it to remind people to shop locally," Droste said. 

Christmas at the Steeple Center

The Rosemount Area Arts Council is putting on a special event this year titled "Christmas at the Steeple Center." It will include performances by the  and Rosemount Community Band, an appearance by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, and a reading of "The Night Before Christmas," by Mayor Bill Droste, among many other fun activities. 

The event takes place this Saturday, Dec. 3 and will have two shows: one at 2 p.m. that costs $12 and one at 7 p.m. that costs $15. Call 651-600-8693 for more information.
