New Record High Temperature for Rosemount

A temperature of 52 degrees on Jan. 10, 2012 broke the former record high temperature set in 1990 for the Twin Cities area. Colder temperatures forecast for remainder of the week.

If you were tempted to go outside in your shorts on Tuesday, you weren’t alone.

Unseasonable warm temperatures throughout the 2011-2012 winter season resulted in a record shattering 52 degrees Jan. 10, according to WCCO TV.  The former high temperature for Jan. 10 was 49 degrees, recorded in 1990.

The “heat wave” in the Twin Cities metro area isn’t forecast to last too long. The National Weather Service says there is a 30 percent chance of snow on Wednesday with temperatures forecast to dipping to 32 degrees and falling to a low of around  12 degrees Wednesday night.
