Rosemount's Birtzer at Upper Midwest Flatpicking Guitar Championship
The two-time Minnesota state champion took third-place honors at the event last weekend.
Rosemount’s Clint Birtzer took third-place last weekend at the Upper Midwest Flatpicking Guitar contest in River Falls, Wisconsin. The contest was held in conjunction with the River Falls Roots and Bluegrass Music Festival.

Birtzer is a two-time Minnesota State Flatpicking Guitar champion having won titles in 2009 and 2011. His finger-flurries on the guitar strings can often be seen around Rosemount while playing with the Sawtooth Bluegrass Band.
