Cole's Salon in Apple Valley Snips New Styles for Charity Hair Donation

Thirty-four students, parents and alumnae of Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights cut their hair in honor of a cancer survivor.

On Monday, cosmetologists from in Apple Valley and other salons in the area gave 34 haircuts for a good cause.

Students, parents and alumna of in Mendota Heights cut their hair for Locks of Love—a nonprofit that provides hair to financially disadvantaged children who have long-term hair loss because of a medical condition—or Beautiful Lengths, a partnership between Pantene and the American Cancer Society to make wigs for adults, according to a news release.

The event comes in honor of Liz Hewitt, the alumnae director at the school and mother of two whose cancer is now in remission, two years after her cancer treatments caused hair loss. She also got her hair cut on Monday.
