Apple Valley Lawyer Named as Candidate for 1st Judicial District Judgeship

Robert Bauer is a shareholder at Apple Valley-based Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills & Bauer P.A. and a coach of a Shakopee youth basketball team.

An Apple Valley chamber member and Shakopee Area Catholic School youth basketball coach has been named as one of three candidates to fill a judgeship in Minnesota’s 1st Judicial District, the Le Center Leader reported on Monday.

Robert Bauer is a shareholder and vice president at Apple Valley-based Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills & Bauer P.A.

He specializes in “general municipal, land use and real estate matters”—such as zoning, property condemnation and special assessment appeals—as well as general civil litigation, shareholder disputes and wills, trusts and business succession planning, according to the firm.

Bauer got an undergraduate political science degree from the University of Minnesota and then got a law degree from Hamline University School of Law.

The Commission on Judicial Selection also named Timothy Looby, a partner at Melchert Hubert Sjodin, and Mark Vandelist, of Vandelist & Vandelist, as candidates.
