Pet of the Week: Bebe the Tabby, Gunshot Survivor, Seeks New Home

Bebe, a one-year-old cat, narrowly escaped death after she was shot by her previous owner.

Bebe is described as "an adorable brown classic tabby" with a harrowing past. The one-year-old cat was rescued from a rural town in outstate Minnesota after her previous owner decided he was "tired of her" and shot her with a pellet gun. The man intended to kill her, but Bebe was very lucky: The shot glanced off her eye without entering the eye socket and a kindly neighbor intervened before her owner could take aim again.

Bebe's eye is permanently damaged, but she is otherwise very healthy and the incident did not harm her spirit. She is a lively and playful foster cat who loves people and gets along well with other pets.
