Final Blog: Vacation of a Lifetime

Final Blog: Vacation of a Lifetime - Blogger Megan Glidden has been following the Rosemount Choir on their week-long trip to Europe.

Editor's Note: Blogger Megan Glidden has been following the Rosemount Choir on their week-long trip to Europe.

Sunday, April 1

We all agreed, this was one of the best vacations we have ever had! With 20 of us together for over a week, we have learned a lot of new things! We have noticed many differences in Europe, some that we loved, and some that were a little harder to adapt to, but all in all we absolutely loved it.

I’m sure that we all had different trip highlights, but I will share mine with you. I fell in love with Cassis, France. The seaside village embedded in the stone cliffs was a sight that I will never forget. I loved shopping and sightseeing in Carcasonne, the medieval fortress. My favorite night was our last night in Barcelona with the dinner and flamenco dance performance…and sangria.

We learned a lot of things while we were there. Some of these things include the differences in light switches, door locks, bathrooms, and showers. The light switches you may never understand, along with the door locks. The public bathrooms are seldom, and you should always have Kleenex along with you. The showers are just weird, yet we all used them…I hope.

We all have favorite things about Europe, including the food, wine, architecture, desserts, pastries and sangria. It is hard to get used to the sights and wonders of Europe and then have to leave them so soon!

Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better vacation. Our tour guide was a complete riot and we all loved being around him. He was hilarious and very accommodating when some things didn’t go according to plan, we couldn’t have asked for a better man to bring along with us! We had excellent drivers the entire trip, especially Gilles. We loved the fact that we didn’t have to plan too much out. The trip was already all planned for us and it was truly a relaxing and marvelous vacation.

The students of Rosemount High School choir did an excellent job, and from what I have heard, had a blast on the trip! It was a treat getting to watch them perform and it was amazing! The choir directors and chaperones did the most wonderful job with the students! They deserve a huge thank you for watching over them and keeping them safe throughout the trip. These people are amazing and we are so thankful they were there!

We met so many wonderful friends throughout the trip and we all talk about going on the next one! We have made bets as to where the trip will be…we are thinking/hoping for Ireland or Australia. So if the one in charge of picking the location is reading this, just keep that in mind. We wouldn’t trade this trip for anything and we were all so blessed to be a part of it! Good friends, beautiful sights, great sangria. Until next trip.

From Rosemount,

Megan
