Accident Injures Driver, Passengers Near Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley

A driver and two passengers were transported to a local hospital after a crash caused by a U-Turn, according to police

Apple Valley Police were called out Friday to an accident with injuries at the intersection of Galaxie Avenue and Safari Pass in the City of Apple Valley.

 According to witnesses, the passenger vehicle, a Ford Taurus was southbound on Galaxie Avenue when the driver suddenly veered right onto Safari Pass and then began to execute a U-turn maneuver to go northbound on Galaxie Avenue.

A Ford F350, also travelling southbound on Galaxie Avenue, was unable to avoid colliding with the Taurus and struck the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The driver and two passengers in the Taurus sustained injuries and were transported to Regions Hospital.  

The Minnesota State Patrol is completing a reconstruction of the collision.

Agencies assisting the Apple Valley Police Department at the scene were the Apple Valley Fire Department, Allina Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol, and North Memorial Air Care.
